Sam Childs is one of those fortunate young entrepreneurs who has found their groove with a passion for creating images, whether still or moving, in a way that captures the beauty of the playground he calls home – the Virgin Islands. Having established Island Films Limited, Sam is building his reputation as a leading regional photographer and cinematographer. Following his father’s passion for photography from a young age, Sam started making short vlogs on his GoPro during covid and found he had a talent for telling a story. His father’s purchase of a drone in 2015 allowed Sam to hone his skills as a UAV pilot and is currently the only commercial photographer with a blanket consent to fly drones commercially in the Virgin Islands. Whether creating cinematic aerial imagery or flying FPV, the emergence of drones has opened up a new frontier in filming. Island Films Limited has emerged as the leading provider of quality imagery in the Virgin Islands with assignments ranging from real estate to advertising, luxury yachts to lifestyle videos.
